With increasing growth of traffic over the last decade, the existing road configuration from Vacoas up to Palmerstone junction and Jumbo roundabout are subjected to chronic traffic congestion. Besides, with the implementation of the Metro Express project, only one lane will be available for traffic. And this will lead to even more congestion, increase in travel time and reduction in level of service.
Now operational, this project helps in alleviating the chronic traffic congestion from Vacoas up to Palmerstone junction and Jumbo roundabout and enables a better interface of the road network with the Metro Express Project.
